Clothing

Dress codes are important for both brand perception and personal identity. Distinctive, versatile, stylish and functional clothing of good quality will not only help customers identify us, but also strengthen the professional impressions we make. This chapter outlines how our visual identity is applied to clothing.
Updated

Local rules and regulations as well as differences in garment design between suppliers means our clothing will differ somewhat between locations. Adaptions will have to be made to suit specific garments and local needs, but the guidelines and examples shown here are quite general and should be applicable in any situation.

By following these simple guidelines, we ensure consistent and effective handling of company clothing.

Wilhelmsen Work Wear

All our corporate clothing must bear the Wilhelmsen logo as specified below. Blue garments should match Wilhelmsen Blue (PMS 2945) as closely as possible. Always make sure all work wear is in compliance with local rules and regulations.

On all upper body clothes, our logo is placed on the right at chest height. On jackets, boiler suits and safety vests the logo is also applied in large size across the back. Make sure you adhere to the rules regarding clear space (see Core Elements chapter) when placing the logo in close proximity to other visual elements like buttons, zippers and reflectors.

Boiler Suits

Boiler suits must be either white with blue logo or blue with white logo. No other colours are allowed. All boiler suits must be equipped with reflective material.

Jackets

Jackets must always be blue with white logo, and they must be equipped with reflective material.

Safety Clothing

Safety clothing must have high visibility. This can be achieved by ensuring maximum contrast between clothing colour and the work environment. Our safety jackets and pants should therefore be bright orange. Safety vests should be either fluorescent orange or yellow. All safety clothing must be equipped with reflective material.

The Wilhelmsen logo must be either white or black depending on what provides the highest contrast. Never use the blue logo on safety clothing.

Shirts should be white with blue logo, blue with white logo or grey with blue logo. For darker shades of grey, consider using a white logo to ensure sufficient contrast.

T-shirts

T-shirts can be produced in all the colours of our primary palette, or they can be white. They may also include our pulse graphics or messaging set in either Tiempos Headline or Aktiv Grotesk. The logo can be placed on the right sleeve if the front is used for messaging. See the Core Elements chapter for details on colours, the pulse graphics and typography.
